Minding My Business - MGS

I don't mind people's own business,
I never judge their work or their ways,
I never question opinions that differ,
Nor interfere with their fishy plays.

And most especially, I never spread rumors
About the private lives of those I see,
Lo! My mouth is like a wheel,
Sometimes it veers off course, you see.

But I am the one holding the gear,
So I’m responsible for the direction I take,
If madness governs my innermost thoughts,
My brain is the first to judge before my heart can awake.

For God placed my brain higher than my heart,
So I won’t be swayed by fleeting emotion,
There are many times I’ve been misjudged,
Miscalculated, misunderstood in my devotion.

By my words and actions, I may falter,
But I tell you, I never hate or curse,
For I am incapable of maligning anyone,
Just a speck of dust in this universe.

I live one day and then I’m gone,
Yet my stories can be read, each page a mark,
For I am a creation, given life by God Almighty,
To praise Him, to shine, to ignite a spark.

From birth till I grow old, one thing I desire,
Is to live with peace and truthfulness in my soul,
Though I am weak and far from perfect,
I believe that trying is the key to becoming whole.

So I’ll strive to be better, to learn and to grow,
To embrace the journey, to let kindness flow,
For in this life, it’s the love that we share,
That leaves a legacy, a story beyond compare.
