Hearing the little ones’ dismay,
Their tiny voices, sound and clear,
Echoed wishes for the rain to disappear.
Moving their heads, upward, downward,
Searching the skies, their hopes empowered.
Looking left, then to the right,
Under heavy clouds, they trod with fright.
So I began to pray, to the Lord above,
“Clear the way for them, wrap them in love.
Keep them safe, let the storm subside,
Guide them gently, be their guide.”
“Clear the way for them, wrap them in love.
Keep them safe, let the storm subside,
Guide them gently, be their guide.”
So rain, rain, if you
must stay,
Let joy and laughter find their way.
For in the hearts of these little ones
Hope will rise, and love will call.
Bring them home safe and sound. Amen
