Legit Educators (Be Seen, protect, and respect)

An unwritten archive of triumphs and scars,
Etched in red ink under flickering stars,
In the heavy, deep silence of rooms left behind,
Lies the battleground history of mapping the mind.
From the rigid old desks and the textbooks of old,
Where authority ruled and obedience was told,
To the hyper-connected, fierce digital age,
A chaotic frontier now unfolds on the stage.
We stand as the bridge, though we're fraying and thin,
To shepherd the new world that's rushing on in.

Yet beneath this devotion, a hypocrisy lies:
The system shields children but ignores our own cries.
Defenseless we stand at the front of the room,
In an undeclared war of attrition and gloom.
From volatile students to parents who rage,
To the venom of peers on this corporate stage—
We choke on impunity, shattered and bruised,
While the shield that we deserve is denied and refused.

Now the sanctity fades as the boundaries blur,
Where the casual tutors and click-baits occur.
They birth a toxic myth that a marker in hand
Makes anyone fit for this sacred, hard land.
But the true, legit teacher has walked through the fire,
A four-year long crucible born of desire.
Through licensure exams and psychological art,
They mastered the science of molding the heart.

To strip them of honor, to underpay worth,
To match them with those who just chanced on this earth,
Is a systemic betrayal, a modern disgrace,
That darkens the light of this educational space.
Our stories should chronicle minds waking bright,
Not survival and burnout in the dead of the night.
Defend the great architects, shatter the noise,
Give the keepers of knowledge a shield and a voice.

A MUST Say to the MUSN"T

 Every teacher carries a silent library of stories, written in the margins of lesson plans, graded papers, and late-night worries. Across generations, the classroom has transformed drastically. Legacy educators remember the old system of rows of wooden desks, heavy textbooks, and unquestioned authority. Today, the new system demands digital fluency, individualized learning tracks, and a hyper-connected environment. Through this massive cultural and technological shift, teachers have served as the bridge between the past and the future, adapting to changing student needs while holding onto the core mission of education.

Yet, as the educational landscape evolves, a glaring imbalance has emerged regarding safety and advocacy. Society has rightfully established robust child protection policies to shield students from harm. However, a parallel structure does not exist to safeguard the adults at the front of the room. Teachers increasingly face harassment, intimidation, and emotional abuse. This hostility does not just come from unruly students; it frequently stems from aggressive parents demanding unearned grades, and even from toxic co-teachers engaging in workplace bullying. There must be a formal teacher protection policy. Educators deserve an institutional voice and concrete legal protections against bullying from all sides.

Furthermore, the modern era has blurred the lines of what it means to be an educator. The rise of informal tutoring, digital content creation, and casual instructional roles has led to the misconception that anyone who explains a concept can be called a teacher. The reality is far different. Exceptional, legitimate teachers endure a rigorous four-year college degree, survive grueling student-teaching assignments, and pass demanding state licensure exams. These professionals study child psychology, pedagogy, and curriculum development. They must not be neglected, underpaid, or compared to "teachers by chance" who lack the foundational training and legal accountability that a licensed educator carries.

Ultimately, the stories teachers tell should be about inspiration and student breakthroughs, not about survival and burnout. To preserve the integrity of education for the next generation, society must protect its creators. Honoring legitimate educators means giving them the structural protection, professional respect, and systemic voice they have rightfully earned.
