Goodbye

Wave tears goodbye to be cried at night; Wave hands to hold nothing, The pain now or never for the grieving of our love. Your loud whisper cannot reach my ears, Kiss goodbye, as lips sweat teardrops from my eyes. Why can’t it be? Why not us? I ask a little more while Stepping ahead to be out of sight, Left alone… Left unspoken… You and I… In separate ways, Two paths diverging in the fading light, Once intertwined, now drifting apart, Each heartbeat echoing the silence of the night. Memories linger like shadows in the dark, Fleeting moments that once ignited a spark. But time has a way of unraveling dreams, And love, once vibrant, now silently screams. I gather the pieces, the remnants of us, Holding them close, though they gather dust. In the quiet of solitude, I learn to let go, To wave tears goodbye, to embrace the unknown. Though the ache may linger, the heart may still yearn, I’ll find strength in the lessons, in the love that we learned. For in every endin...

Minding My Business

I don't mind people's own business, I never judge their work or their ways, I never question opinions that differ, Nor interfere with their fishy plays. And most especially, I never spread rumors About the private lives of those I see, Lo! My mouth is like a wheel, Sometimes it veers off course, you see. But I am the one holding the gear, So I’m responsible for the direction I take, If madness governs my innermost thoughts, My brain is the first to judge before my heart can awake. For God placed my brain higher than my heart, So I won’t be swayed by fleeting emotion, There are many times I’ve been misjudged, Miscalculated, misunderstood in my devotion. By my words and actions, I may falter, But I tell you, I never hate or curse, For I am incapable of maligning anyone, Just a speck of dust in this universe. I live one day, and then I’m gone, Yet my stories can be read, each page a mark, For I am a creation, given life by God Almighty, To praise Him, t...

Hoping

I wanna see you lying on my pillow, And if by chance, I tell how much I care, Because I finally realized how much you really mean, If I could turn back time, When you were so in love with me, I would surely treasure you and never let you go. I hurt you and ignored you, And now I’m bluer than blue, I keep shouting your name, Keep waiting, keep hoping, But time just passes by, no shadow of you. At the door, I’m standing 24/7, Pathetically, emotionally, I’m dying to see you, It hurts to think of what could be, To take back the love I used to have, I know it’s wrong, but I dare to swallow my pride, Just to have you again, to feel you by my side. But where are you now? I thought I was strong, But since you left, the tears never did stop, The way I used to has gone by, Tell me, how can I find my old self again? Without you, I’m lost, Hoping here... in distress, Searching for a way to mend this heart, To find the light in the shadows, To reclaim the love that f...

Being Annoyed

We have been programmed to be the way we are since childhood; most of us develop annoying habits and behaviors; it can really get frustrating, especially when we’re in close contact with those difficult people every single day. So, what do we do? We try to change them or expect them to change. You know, those misfits, the troublemakers, the rebels, the crazy ones, the procrastinators, the latecomers, etc., and then it gets even worse, because changing people cannot happen overnight. Gandhi was saying, “Be the change we wish to see in this world, a reminder that we have no control over other lives, so it’s preferable to just change ourselves. Just ignore them, you say, but what if we have close contact with this difficult person every day like your child, your spouse, your co-worker, or a friend? How do you deal with them? It’s a question that lingers, an echo of frustration and hope, to navigate the tangled web of relationships to find a way to cope. Perhaps it starts with understan...

A Letter for my Students

And then, they were gone... The lovely faces... The sweet voices... The warm laughter… The chatter in the classroom... The English room suddenly becomes cold... And the ten months suddenly seem too short. I am left again with the chalk dust… I look at the empty armchair. You used to sit there silently reading your notes... or pretending to be... I heard you giggling holding your cellphone... while a classmate erased the writings on the wall... I saw you carrying the garbage bin... I watched you sweeping the floor... I felt your tears when you had a fight with your friends... I saw you run inside the classroom When your other teacher suddenly came announcing a surprise quiz. I heard you picking on your seatmate who always asked for 1/4 sheet of paper... I heard you beg to be included in the list of training participants... I saw you sweat while scratching your head when you couldn't answer a question. I heard you scream for joy when you passed the test... It's all I could do now...

I am a Teacher

I am a teacher Like a mother to her own child The love and care will never fade away I get hurt, but I can forget. I can be insulted, but I can forgive. I know I can't please you all. But I won't be the reason for your fall. It doesn’t matter if you hate me, Calling me mean won’t cause a thing I AM a TEACHER, and I swear to serve To teach and inspire With all my strength and ability To treat you fairly and justly. I know sometimes you have a bad day And you need someone to listen and cheer you up You need someone to understand you You are young and vulnerable I am strict but firm But my hands are always free To reach your needs.
